PRAYER FOR CRIME

PRAYER FOR CRIME

Today is the first day of prayer for crime.  I am joining my voice with those of a city to call upon GOD to help cut down on all the evil that plagues our cities.  There is so much evil out on our streets that it is frightening.  You work hard for your money and some THUG who is too lazy to work takes it from you with force. Lord I ask that you deal with them according to your will, so that innocent people can live thier life in Peace, and not fear the actions of these criminals.  Lord where there is prositution on our streets, teach them that this is not living.  It is a way to make money but they miss out on the true JOY of living.  Help them to understand that they are just existing.  Lord where someone intends to do harm to someone today we ask your intervention for them.  Take them out of harms way, put your hedge up around them and keep them safe.  For our police officers Lord who have dedicated thier lives to serving others let there be an end to sensless death.  Keep our officers safe as they go about thier day trying to PROTECT and SERVE.  You are the only true Bullet proof vest  that will shelter them from the criminals they will encounter in thier day.  Keep your hand upon them.

For our country as a whole Lord I pray.  I can think of nothing I would like more than for America to be once again BLESSED by the man above who made it.  Remind us all that it was GOD who saw to it that we won the battles that made us a free country. Remind us how much he has helped us face for freedom and the GOOD LIFE.  Help us Lord remember that as a country we are are truely blessed.

Bring us back to our roots,  where men were true men, who had honor, worked a days hard work for a days pay, treated everyone with respect and most of all loved his family.

Bring us back to the days when women were honored for thier character.  When women conducted themselves with dignity so that children had examples to live by for generations to come.  Remind us that  how we live our lives shapes the lives of all of our children. Let us be GOOD role models for those who will follow after us.

Lord,  I know that when I see the changes that are taking place I cry.  There is so little happiness in this world.  It seems as though everyone has lost the JOY of living.  Please Lord help us to get our world back on track.  The signs of your coming are here,  let us as Christians lifting our cities up in prayer truely make a difference.

Prayer for this day

Prayer for this day

Lord, it is Sunday night and most everyone returns to work tomorrow.  As these people head out in the morning I ask that you give them a good start to thier day.  Lord be with them as they travel to work,  and keep your hand upon them and take them safely back home.  If they have worries and cares Lord speak in a small still voice that says to them that in the times when they may not FEEL you that you are still there. Remind them that all they need is to give thier worries and cares to you.  Because there is nothing in thier life today that you can not handle.  I ask this in your name.  Amen

OUR NATION

OUR NATION

I have seen so many changes in my world in the past few years.  Growing up in my little West Virginia home as a child I never worried about anything.  Looking back now I realize that Mama was an amazing woman.  She lived on a widows pension,  but I can't remember ever being poor.  Mama sewed dresses for me that she got from the Salvation Army and yard sales.  She sewed curtains and put trim on cheap towels and linens and made them look like a million bucks.  We lived in a trailor but never were thought of as poor.   It was not until I was out of high school that Mama shared with me many stories about my church clothes I wore as a child with all it's ribbons and bows and lace.  She explained making fancy dresses for my high school dances,  and how she sewed Gloria Vanderbilt nametags on the clothes she found at yard sells around town.  My Mama always put me first and I  never  remember her ever complaining.

When I got my driver's lic  at 16  I drove Mama everywhere.  I was put on her insurance for next to nothing and gas was 89 cents a gallon.  When I started working out of town  I had no problem putting gas in my car.  I even took us on short trips,  and we would go to a lot of Gospel Sings which my Mama loved. I never thought about gas prices.

Now since my little girl was born it seems life has always been hard.  I've always been blessed but life sure has changed since I was a young girl.   I can remember when my little girl was younger how I would pretend to have money .  Like our first Christmas on our own when I went to Walmart and bought  a make-up promotional item with 15 pieces including a cute little purse.  It cost 7.95.  I stayed up half the night wrapping each item individually so she would have a lot to unwrap come Christmas morning.  Now that she is a teenager it breaks my heart because  I have to be honest when her school has a fied trip to Kennedy space center or I don't have money for her to have big birthday parties.  She is an humble child and she never complians about what she doesn't have...she has  just stoped  telling me when she has things that take money. I often find litttle slips of paper in her bookbag where she could have done something that cost money,  but didn't ask.

God help our nation.  People who use to be considered middle class are now  at poverty level.  My childhood never entailed knowing just how poor we were.  Now kids in school mistreat classmates that are not up to thier standards.   No wonder so many young people feel worthless.  Money is a sign of POWER.  Without money you are viewed as nothing.

God help our nation.  I felt so proud when people began praying after 911,  but a sermon at church made a good point...The same people who were praying for AMERICA before 911 were the same people praying for our country after 911,  because  not everyone that fell to thier knees gave thier heart to God ( although I am sure many did)  so God was not honored by those prayers.

God PLEASE help our nation.  I never dreamed that  I would ever see a day when gas prices would  rise 2 or 3 times in one day.  You can drive down the street and come back through and gas has gone up 2 or 3 cents.  That's unbelieveable.  The saddest part is that it is starting to affect how often people go to church.  I use to go Sunday morning, Sunday night,  Tuesday Prayer services,  and Saturday Gospel sings.  Now I go on Sunday Morning.  There use to be a Thursday night Bible study but that has been combined with the Tuesday night service because people said they couldn't make both services because of the cost of gas.   We use to have a lot more church dinners  like in the good old days,  but even they have been cut back due to the price of making food to bring in.  What use to be  once a month has been cut back to  Special Holidays.

Now I fear that life as we knew it  will never be again.  Now the only traveling I do is in my mind back to my little country home.

Does the economy affect how often  you attend church  and what activities your church has?

A PRAYER FOR THE PRESIDENT

A PRAYER FOR THE PRESIDENT

Dear Lord,

The news is full of all the headlines of the war overseas. Lord you know we have so many of our family and friends over there.  Everyday you hear of some military person who will be coming home...but not to be greeted with smiles and laughter,  but by tears and broken hearts.

Lord,  I am not to say whether this war was neccessary or not,  or to question who is at fault for our presence there.  All I am here to say is that in this horrible time we are living in that NOW it is only right to finish what we started so that all of the lives that were lost were NOT in vain.  Lord,  We are NOT to judge who is right and who is wrong,  you simply tell us in your word that we as Christians MUST pray for our leaders.  There was a time when I was a little girl that I heard my Daddy speak about how the presidents and our forefathers ran this country trusting in GOD.  They were not ashamed of CRYING out to GOD in times of trouble.  Even in Bible days the GREATEST KINGS were those who served a MIGHTY GOD,  those who saught your council,  and those who prayed to you without ceasing.

Today We need NOT to be a COUNTRY who turns from your ways to those that meet our NEED to be " DOING OUR OWN THING ".  We have become a country who supports anything and anybody,  whether it is right or wrong.  We are a society where anything goes,  as long as it " FEELS GOOD ". We have become too affraid to take a stand,  so we just lay down and let the world walk all over us.  Then we wonder just why YOU  do not BLESS us.

It will soon be 09/11 again,  and you'll hear millions calling out your name because their heart is breaking,  just as you did on that horrible day.  You took down the hedge of protection from us to get our attention  so that we would know that we  need to come back to the only one who can protect us. Ain't it funny that many of my ATHEIST friends cried out to you on that day...but you did not exist, in thier times before sorrow.  Ain't it funny that millions bowed before you on thier knees...some who had never been on thier knees before.  Ain't it funny how so many people come together in tradgedy to ask you to BLESS OUR COUNTRY...the very same ones Lord,  that the rest of the time are supporting ALL the things that make you sick to your stomach,  and the very same ones Lord who took PRAYER out of School, who fight everyday about whether you can have the TEN COMMANDMENTS displayed anywhere.  The same ones who say they want " IN GOD WE TRUST " taken off our money,  and the same ones Lord,  who want to do away with your birthday, take away the NATIVITY SCENE,  and TAKE CHRIST out of CHRISTMAS and call it HAPPY HOLIDAYS.  It is NO WONDER that you have tuned a deaf ear to our cries.  We christians have such a small voice for you to hear over the LOUD RAMBLINGS of a world destined to live life in thier OWN WAY regardless of the OUTCOME.

Today and everyday LORD,  I will lift up a prayer for our President.  OUR leaders need to be lifted up instead of beaten down.  Whether he is right,  or wrong, he will answer for his actions. All that we can do is pray that you will take care of all of us Christians who have no say so over how the world will be run.

Yes,  we have the right to vote,  but  even then we get poor leaders when we think they are good. We now  know it does not matter who runs this country,  until we have a PRESIDENT who turns to you in thier time of need ,we will be at your MERCY.  We can vote who  we think would make the best candidate...but most of the time we will be disappointed.

So Lord,  I will pray for our leaders today.  Please help them make wise decisions........

       MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.
